KUCHING: Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg received a courtesy call from the Sarawak Farmers Organisation (SFO) at his office in Wisma Bapa Malaysia, Petra Jaya here yesterday.

The visiting delegation was led by Assistant Minister of Agriculture Native Land and Regional Development Datuk Dr Abdul Rahman Ismail, who is also SFO chairman.

A number of subjects were discussed during the courtesy call, including the construction of a new building to serve as the headquarters of the organisation, funded by the Sarawak government.

The project was announced during SFO’s 33rd annual general meeting here in September 2018, in which Abang Johari
had approved an allocation of RM20 million and also a three-acre land for the HQ development.

Later, the Chief Minister received another courtesy call from the Electoral Reform Committee (ERC) chairman Tan Sri Datuk Sri Panglima Abdul Rashid Abdul Rahman.

They discussed the latest report regarding improvements to the electoral system in Malaysia as well as other related matters.

Accompanying Abdul Rashid was ERC chief executive Amerul Muner Mohammad.
