RM63 bln post Covid-19 economic plan unveiled

KUCHING: Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg today unveiled Sarawak’s Post Covid-19 Development Strategy (PCDS) to chart the state’s future after the pandemic until 2030.

He said an estimated total of RM63 billion had been committed to implement the plan under the 12th Malaysia Plan (12MP); RM30 billion came from direct development expenditure and RM33 billion from alternative funding.

“The first phase of the PCDS 2030 will be implemented under the 12MP between 2021 and 2025. The target under 12MP and the PCDS 2021-2030 is for the economy to grow at an average of 6.0 percent to 8.0 percent per annum,” he said.
