A Visit to Neocrab Farm at Telaga Air

TELAGA AIR, 1 April 2021: YB Datuk Dr Haji Abdul Rahman Bin Haji Ismail, Assistant Minister of Modernisation of Agriculture, Native Land and Regional Development Sarawak (MANRED) made a visit to Neocrab farm, at Telaga Air today.  This is the first vertically integrated mud-crab farming business in Sarawak and Malaysia.  According to its director, Umang Nangku Jabu  and her husband Cyrill Eigensatz, Chairman of Ginger & Coconut Development Sdn Bhd,  “Neocrabs” are the trademark mud-crabs of the company.  The company is producing crablets which are from its own hatchery and are grown out in the farms in both earthen ponds and boxes.   Besides crablets, other products are juvenile crabs, frozen soft shell crabs and premium hard shell crabs.  The soft shell crabs are now exported to South Korea and Singapore.

Accompanying the Assistant Minister of MANRED are  Haji Fakhruddin Bokari, Ketua Bahagian Perikanan Darat, DOA, Chong Mui Sia of Kuching Divisional Department  of Agriculture and Mr Wan Bujang Bin Wan Lela, Pegawai Tadbir, MANRED.
