Official Visit to LKF Agro Sdn Bhd by Assistant Minister of Modernisation of Agriculture, Native Land and Regional Development, Sarawak on 4 February 2021

Yesterday event saw a successful collaboration between Tarat agriculture station and LKF Agro Sdn Bhd in undertaking a pilot project on the rearing of exotic fish fries on a commercial basis.  Despite the torrential non-stop downpour, we witnessed the release of 1,000 exotic fish fries by YB Datuk Dr. Haji Abdul Rahman Bin Haji Ismail, Assistant Minister of Modernisation of Agriculture, Native Land and Regional Development, Sarawak.  Also present at the event were Mr Edwin Anak Abit, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Modernisation of Agriculture, Native Land and Regional Development, Sarawak, Dr Alvin Chai, Director of Agriculture Sarawak and his officers from Tarat agriculture station, Mr Petrus Igat Mathias, Board member of Pertubuhan Peladang Negeri Sarawak and Mdm Gloria Nanang, Corporate Relations and Marketing Manager, Pertubuhan Peladang Negeri Sarawak.

LKF Agro Sdn Bhd is owned by local agro entreprenuers, Mr Low Ah Ngiew, 53 years old and Mr Presley Petrus, 41 years old.  Besides diversifying into aquaculture business, LKF Agro has been actively planting vegetables and fruits that are currently sold at leading supermarkets around Kuching. Also in the pipeline, LKF Agro will soon plant vegetables and fruits using the fertigation system and the rearing of Red Tilapia and Jelawat fish.
