Courtesy Call to State Farmers’ Organization Sarawak by New Zealand’s Special Agricultural Trade Envoy (SATE)

YB Datuk Dr Haji Abdul Rahman bin Haji Ismail, Deputy Minister for Food Industry, Commodity and Regional Development Sarawak (Food Industry) cum Chairman of PPNS has welcomed a visit from New Zealand’s Special Agricultural Trade Envoy led by His Excellency Michael Walsh, New Zealand High Commissioner to Malaysia and Brunei at PPNS Building.

The brief meeting saw both parties exchange views on challenges and opportunities in the agriculture sector in Sarawak and New Zealand, exploring potential long-term collaboration in the agriculture sector between New Zealand and Sarawak. Earlier, PPNS General Manager, Mr. Gom Raway shared information on the PPNS’ principal business activities as well as the role of the PPNS in supporting farmers in Sarawak.

After the meeting, Datuk Dr Haji Abdul Rahman led the delegation for a walkabout at Peladang eShop to showcase and introduce the New Zealand’s delegation to the local Sarawak product available there.

Also present were New Zealand Special Agricultural Trade Envoy Mr. Hamish Marr, New Zealand Honorary Consul in Sarawak Tan Sri Hamid Bugo, PPNS Board of Members, PPNS General Manager Mr. Gom Raway and M-FICORD’s Head of Policy Division Mr. David Branch Ambor.
